Pre-wedding relaxation
In one of the rooms of “Casa Vieja”, as they call the preserved part, Jade and her bridesmaids enjoyed the nice weather and started getting ready. As a gift, the bride gave her 6 bridesmaids a tropical print gown that went very well with the location of the wedding. In this room was the makeup and hairstyle service so that everyone was pampered by expert hands.
Later, we could see Jade and Justin’s little daughter, Jorja, who shared unforgettable moments with her mom.
Tropical style
Jade chose a loose hairstyle that left her curly hair in the air, her dress was a trumpet cut with fine lace that molded perfectly to her body. To complement it, she accompanied it with a simple veil of the same size as her fall and a beautiful bouquet in white and red tones with orchids.
At “Casa Sisal”, the new construction of the hacienda, Justin and his 4 best friends enjoyed a moment alone listening to their favorite music and toasting to the great day that awaited them.
Unique activities: First look, first surprise
Once the couple was ready for their “First look” they met in one of the areas of the hacienda, where Justin was waiting for Jade. The bride walked through the hacienda with a huge smile and the excitement of seeing her fiancé waiting for her. Upon seeing each other, both were surprised and the excitement was evident in their eyes.
After the first look, the couple took advantage of the hacienda for an unforgettable photo session with some family members before their Mexico wedding: Mayan Marriage Ceremony.
Because it was a small wedding of only 40 people, the couple chose to have the reception at “Casa Vieja” leaving the garden of “Casa Sisal” for the ceremony and a garden themed wedding. The guests began to arrive in the transportation that the couple hired to take them from Mérida, all of them were welcomed with fresh water.
Once everyone had taken their seats the entrance music began to play and the cortege made their entrance, first Justin entered accompanied by his sister and mother and then we watched the parade of the couple’s best friends and at the end, we could see Jade accompanied by her mother’s arm.
Unique wedding traditions: Mayan marriage ceremony
As the couple stood together at the altar, the conch shells began to sound. This couple chose to have a Mayan Marriage Ceremony because of the spirituality that the rituals signify and to covenant their lovel strong.
With an English translation to those present so they could understand a little of the culture and all the spirituality that encompasses this Mayan Marriage Ceremony, from the meaning of each element or each moment. The couple received the blessing of the 4 gods of each cardinal point. We could see the union of the couple with the previously blessed seed ribbon, the bride and groom sharing corn and honey as signs that they will never lack food and sweet moments in their family.

Unique wedding ceremony rituals
At the end, the couple exchanged rings and declared their vows. These moments were filled with laughter and tears from all the guests and to end the Mayan Marriage Ceremony, the traditional toast that marks the end of the ceremony was made, in which everyone toasted with “Balché”, a drink made from honey.
After this, the couple left the sacred area and celebrated in style, having become husband and wife.
Once the Mayan Marriage Ceremony was over, the guests were moved to the pool area of “Casa Vieja”, a comfortable and tropical space, surrounded by nature.
While they were greeted with refreshing drinks and some traditional Trova Yucateca, the couple went to “Casa Sisal” to pick up little Jorja who was ready to enjoy the party with her parents. When the couple entered the cocktail party the guests greeted them with smiles and congratulatory hugs.
Unique wedding decorations: Mexican style welcome
When the reception was ready all the guests went to enjoy this area decorated with tropical touches, the couple entered the reception accompanied by fireworks that gave way to the great dinner.
Two imperial wooden tables with transparent chairs were decorated with flowers in red and white touches. At each place setting was a little bottle of habanero chili sauce (local chili) indicating each guest’s place setting.
The flavors that everyone enjoyed were 100% Mexican flavors since it was an Oaxacan menu with local touches, something that everyone loved and left with a good taste in their mouths.
The couple placed roll cameras on each table so that guests could take pictures and then later they could develop those pictures and see the unique moments they captured. Both tables were illuminated with light bulbs that provided a romantic ambiance accompanied by elegant decorations for wedding reception.
Next to the bar, a neon sign was illuminated next to the dance floor and a lounge area for guests to relax.
During the dinner, we could hear the words of the couple’s best friends with their best wishes for this new stage. At the end, the couple approached the dance floor and began with what would be their first dance as spouses and what would be the beginning of an unforgettable evening full of fun and love.
